The Board of Directors
In accordance with the Central Bank of Belize Act, Chapter 262, Revised Edition 2000, the Central Bank’s Board of Directors consists of the Governor, a Deputy Governor and the Financial Secretary as ex-officio members and not less than three nor more than four other members, who are appointed by the Minister with responsibility for the Central Bank, for such period not exceeding four years. The Minister shall appoint one of the members as Chairman of the Board, and the members shall elect one of their number as the Vice-Chairman.

The Board is the policy making organ of the Bank and is required to meet at least ten times each year. In the absence of a Chairman the Vice-Chairman shall preside at the meetings..
