Accounts and Budget

The Accounts and Budget Department is an essential element of the Bank’s financial planning, as it measures the financial performance and ensures the integrity of the Bank’s financial records.   The Department ensures efficient financial management and presentation of the Bank’s financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Central Bank of Belize Act, and other statutory requirements and auditing policy.

In addition, the Department performs these core functions:

  • Promote financial accountability and transparency by preparing the Bank’s budget.
  •  Monitor and control financial activities to ensure that it aligns with the budget allocation.
  •  Prepare and maintain the Bank’s accounting records. 
  •  Advise stakeholders of the Bank’s financial health
  •  Procure goods and services  to support the Bank’s operations
  •  Perform payment agent functions on behalf of the Bank within the framework of established systems and procedures.
