Capital Transactions

Large deficits on the current account of the balance of payments and foreign debt servicing obligations ensure that there is a need for continued vigilance overflows for capital transactions such as the purchase and sale of land, company shares, financial assets, and other investments. Central Bank approval and confirmation of notice is therefore required for all capital account transactions that involve residents and non-residents. Miscellaneous matters, such as methods of enforcement and the powers of the controller, are also included.

The Exchange Control Approvals Unit of the Research Department facilitates the approvals of capital transactions that grants confirmation notices and approvals for the transfer of assets between foreign and local entities.

Request of Capital Transactions

To request confirmation of notices or approvals of Capital Transactions such as Land Transactions, Portfolio & Capital Investments (Shares), External Investments, Foreign/Domestic Loans and Bank Accounts, clients will need to:

1. Email completed notices to [email protected].

3. Please note, that a confirmation of notice will be sent via email within 24 hours of the submitted notification. If you do not receive a response within 24 hours, kindly contact the bank by telephone at (501) 223-6194, Extensions: 318 or 328.
