COVID-19 treasury notes are interest-earning securities issued and guaranteed by the Government of Belize. COVID-19 Treasury notes have maturities ranging from five to 20 years.

The Government of Belize (GOB) is offering to the public $75,000,000 in Five, Ten and Twenty-Year Treasury Notes. Application forms are available on the Central Bank’s website: and may be submitted via email to [email protected]. Central Bank reserves the right to accept or reject all or any application.

Payment of Interest

All interest on the bonds accrues from the date of issue and will be payable semi-annually until maturity in Belize Dollars.

Payment of Principal

The principal amount will be repaid at face value on maturity in the respective currency in which payment was originally made: Belize Dollars or US Dollars. 


 These notes are backed by the full faith and credit of the GOB.

Tax Status

Interest earnings on the notes are tax exempt.
