Financial Soundness Indicators
Financial soundness indicators are key measures that assess the performance of the domestic banking, international banking and credit union sectors. The structure of the financial system provides a snapshot of asset size and number of institutions for each financial sector in Belize’s economy. Financial soundness indicators are aggregated across each sector on a quarterly basis to gauge the health of the system. These indicators are classified into four main categories: capital adequacy, asset quality, earnings and profitability, and liquidity.
