The Central Bank of Belize on 31 March 2021, bids farewell to Ambassador A. Joy Grant, CMG, as she completes her tenure as Governor. The Board of Directors, management, and staff of the Central Bank thank Ambassador Grant for her steadfast leadership and extend best wishes to her in all future endeavors. 

Ambassador Grant expressed her appreciation for the support afforded her during her more than four-year tenure, noting special appreciation to everyone at the Central Bank. She also expressed gratitude to the management of institutions from the financial sector. Lastly, Ambassador Grant congratulated Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment, with whom she had early on made agreeable arrangements for an orderly and smooth transition period.

During her term, Ambassador Grant oversaw the execution of a new strategic direction and managed the day-to-day operations of the Central Bank. She further ensured targeted policy responses to support the financial system during unprecedented and challenging times.

The Central Bank of Belize continues its work, promoting monetary and financial stability.
