Requirements for Notice of Transfer of Land in Belize
In accordance with Statutory Instrument No. 106 of 2020, amendment to the Exchange Control Regulations Act, the transfer of real property between a resident and a non-resident requires prior written notice to the Central Bank, providing for particulars of the transaction. See below instructions and requirements on submitting notice of such land transactions.
Steps to submit Notice of Transfer of Land in Belize1. Gather supporting documentation
- If transferor or transferee is a natural person, certified/notarized copy of transferor’s or transferee’s passport or social security biometric page.
- If transferor or transferee is an enterprise, certified/notarized copy of passport or social security biometric page for ultimate beneficial owners (all individuals who own more than 10%).
