How to invest in Treasury Bills

Treasury bills are discounted securities issued and guaranteed by the Government of Belize with a maturity period of less than one year, but usually for three months at varying interest rate and in multiples of $200.

Steps to bid on Treasury bills
1. Consult the latest Treasury bill auction notice
2. Complete Treasury bill application form

To help you determine the amount of your bid you can use the recent and historic results of  Treasury bill auctions.

3. Submit completed form

Email completed application form to [email protected].

Or send the application form in a sealed envelope to:

            Treasury Bill Tender
            Central Bank of Belize
            Investment & Reserve Management Unit
            Gabourel Lane
            Belize City, Belize

Forms must be received by 12:00 noon on the date specified in the notice.

The Central Bank of Belize will inform all potential investors of approval status of the tender.

 

4. If successful, make payment.

Successful bidders should arrange to settle via the Automated Payment & Securities Settlement System of Belize (APSSS).

Steps to purchase Treasury bills on the secondary market
1. Check for availability of Treasury bills
Contact the Investment and Reserve Management Unit of the Central Bank of Belize for availability of Treasury bills.
2. If available, complete application form
3. Submit completed form

Email completed application form to [email protected].

Or send the application form in a sealed envelope to:

Forms must be received by 2:00 p.m. on weekdays.

The Central Bank of Belize will inform all potential investors of approval status of the tender.
