The Central Bank of Belize today donated $85,000.00 to six local agencies across Belize to support their Hurricane Lisa recovery efforts. The donations serve as part of the Central Bank’s mantra of social responsibility.
Governor Kareem Michael noted, “Our mission has always been to contribute to the wellbeing of Belize. In this our 40th year of service to the Belizean people, our executive felt it prudent to boost our philanthropy efforts and so redirected some budgeted funds to this cause.”
Recipients of Hurricane Lisa recovery donations include Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology; Belize Red Cross; Belize City Council; Salvation Army Belize; Dorothy Menzies Child Care Centre; and Hand in Hand Belize.
