The Central Bank of Belize advises the public that the Automated Payment and Securities Settlement System (APSSS) experienced a service interruption today due to an unusually large volume of incoming payment transactions received prior to the start of the business day. This abnormal activity prevented the system from operating throughout the day. As a result, transactions from one bank to another could not be executed; however, transactions within the same bank were and continue to be successfully processed.  Customers are strongly advised to contact their bank to verify their payments.

The Central Bank has been urgently investigating the unusual large incoming transaction volume and is working closely with the APSSS vendor to isolate the problem and resolve the issue. Full system functionality is expected to be restored by tomorrow, 19 November 2025.

The Central Bank apologizes for any inconvenience caused and remains committed to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of Belize’s national payments infrastructure. Further updates will be provided as necessary.
