Project Objectives: The BIPS initiative represents a critical advancement in Belize’s national financial infrastructure. The system will enable fast, secure, and cost-effective electronic payments, enhance liquidity, strengthen financial system resilience, and support financial inclusion.
Implementation: The Central Bank will oversee the phased implementation of the system. In tandem with the technical rollout, the Central Bank will launch a comprehensive nationwide public education campaign to ensure stakeholder readiness and drive public adoption of the new payment rails.
